My stepgrandfather has alzheimers?!

Question: My stepgrandfather has alzheimers!?
My stepgrandfather has alzheimers!. He started developing about 1999!. I was about six!. When I was ten, I was alone alot because my mom was working a fulltime job and away at nursing school - so i pretty much raised myself!. My mom sent me off to her mom and her husband's house during the day!. At the time I really didnt understand the situation of his alzheimers!. He began treating me innapropietly, trying to grope my chest and rub my behind!. I'd be drawing at the dinner table or something and he'd slip his hands down my shirt!. I'd take a nap and wake up with him over me!. When we were in the car he'd often rub my leg!. The part that disgusts me most is that my mom knew well about it and did nothing to stop it!. She kept sending me over!. Four years later, just now my grandmother called me out to her car to talk and he made a comment to me saying "And I'd like to have you too!."
Everyone says he was an amazing grandfather before he got sick!.!.but I'm in tears right now, ontop of my depression i feel absoloutley horrible!. What the hell can i do!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Does your grandmother know!? The horrible thing about this disease, is that he may not remember doing these things to you!. Sometimes he doesn't remember that you're his granddaughter!. You need to tell someone other than your mother because obviously she isn't doing anything about it!. If you do not feel comfortable going over to your grandparents house, you shouldn't!. Stay at a friends or something!. Don't put yourself back into that situation!. I hope everything works out okay!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call RAINN's 24/7 hot-line: 1!.800!.656!.HOPE (4673)
It is anonymous; they will give you advice, and support!.

Or try this:
http://online!.rainn!.org/
It's like the hot-line but setup like a chat!. It is also completely anonymous-make sure you clear any history/cookies/cache from your computer if others can see it!.

You need to talk to someone ASAP!. Be it a school counselor, or another adult; if your Mother and Grandmother have done nothing about it!. It may be difficult for them to accept it; they could be in denial!. This is abuse, and it can have long term effects on you!. Counseling would probably help, as well!. RAINN can refer you to counselors if you decide to go that route!.

Definitely, don't go over there!. Go to a friend's, or try to get involved in some activity that keeps you busy during the time you would normally go there!. It is not safe, and is dangerous to you emotionally and physically!. If you already are depressed this will only make it worse!.

Please, call that hot-line or talk to a trusted adult; even if it has to be an adult outside of your family; since it seems like your mother and grandmother are turning a blind eye to your step-grandfather's treatment of you!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
