Question: Slight depression - Im 16 please help!?
I am often feeling depressed which can be bad, I feel like because I am the older one out of my family I go through the hardest things and no-one understands!.

I am starting college soon and I am doing a course I dont want to even do, child care, I hate kids!. I have to do it though!. I know no-one and dont know where to go!. Then the next minute I find that I am really happy (this happens for about 5 seconds) then I feel depressed again, what is this!?

Hi,
To begin with, you need to take a career placement test and figure out what it is you really want to do!. Don't let anyone force you into a career field that you will hate!.
Now as far as the depression goes, most of the time when I am depressed the problem starts with a chemical imbalance!. for instance, sugar and caffeine as well as any other drugs destroy the B vitamins in your body!. B vitamins are stress relief vitamins!. You need to get a bottle of "B complex" and take twice the recommended dosage twice a day to start!. Do that for 2 weeks and then reduce it to the recommended dosage but still twice a day!.
It is important to make sure that you have adequate nutrition!. If you could eat as much natural food as possible it would really help, and the sugar especially is terribly hard on you when you are in a depressed state!. It will cause that up and down rollarcoaster feeling of ok for a minute and then miserable again!. Things to eat!? Nuts,veggiess, fruits, whole grains, meats that aren't fried, baked foods rather than fried and be sure to take your B vites with food in your stomach!.
Also, just for an experiment, if you can, try to eat small amounts like every couple of hours instead of big meals!. You will actually lose weight this way and your depression may be a result of unstable blood suger, the regular feedings will solve that!.
You need to be well hydrated too!. That means water, not soda or even juice!.
I know that this all means that you will have to change your life style, wouldn't it be worth it to feel better!?

"What is this!?" NORMAL!!! Completely normal for your age, and your situation!. Starting college is an exciting, but scary time!. You may be worried because you don't know what to expect!. Once you start, it will be fine!. And you could meet your new best friend in the course you don't like - maybe even somebody else who doesn't like it either!. Mood swings happen - they are not fun!. my best friend is that way often!.!.!.!. she says she wants no kids, and she flips out on her parents and yells at her mom and crap!.!.!.!. she cries out of the blue!.!.!.!.!. and then randomly she gets so happy, and hyper!.!.!.!. then she gets all pissed off and yells and gets all mopey again!.!.!.!.!. it might have some thing to do with your period, and as for the child course, try your best and it will be over b4 u know it

You are evidently letting someone else make choices for you!. And your life has been spent having to take care of your siblings!. Never doing for yourself!.
Start making choices for yourself!.!.find out what it is you want to go to school for!. Usually everyone goes to College for 2 years before they realize what their dream (passion) is!. The first two years you are really only fulfilling your requirements!.

the best thing to do is to talk to your family or friends and as for the college course, you dont HAVE to do it, when you first start talk to your tutor and they can see about you changing coursesWww@Answer-Health@Com

hi there!. i'll let you know something about me as a warning!. throughout school and college i suffered from bad mood swings, mostly with teachers and other authority figures!. often putting me on the verge of expulsion, but somehow avoiding it!. i did a multimedia course, and found i enjoyed animation and drawing!. but i didn't get good enough grades, and instead of going back a year, i chose to take up photography, which was run at a level alongside multimedia!. big mistake!. i hated it!. i didn't fit in the group!. i soon withdrew and wasted the rest of the year on the dole!. i then applied for uni in a different town, doing multimedia again!. this course was terrible, again i couldn't make friends, just wandering around all day alone!. and i had moved from home!. this is when the depression really set in!. i didn't like my flatmates, and spent days on end just locked in my dorm, sometimes sleeping through entire days!. i came home shortly after christmas, although not officially leaving uni!. my brother managed to get me a weekend job in a supermarket, of which i was sacked after 4 moths for "not being at the level required" which was frankly f*cking insulting!. i now feel everything is over for me, especially considering the current financial state of the country meaning i'm unlikely to find a new job any time soon!. i really don't want to retry education again, because i already screwed it twice before!.

Unfortunately i think that's life!.It happens with me as well rapid mood swings!.Is there no way of perhaps not doing the course!? I'm not sure the situation with you doing the course you don't want to!.

But if you speak to your family about not wanting to do the course hopefully they might understand!?

It wont be the last thing you feel depressed about!.Life throws things at you through out your life no matter how happy you are you just have to learn how to deal with them!.

As for people to talk to have you no friends from school you talk to or anything!? There are organisations out there who help,
