Try to begin to list or think about the things you are afraid of!.
Ask yourself, "How likely is this situation going to happen!?
Decide what you would do if something did happen that you were frightened about!. Once you decide how you would manage the situation, you can then put it aside!. You won't have to think about it anymore because you have a plan to fall back on!.

I know exactly how you feel, I never answer my door!. When someone knocks I just ignore it, but in my neighborhood, there are always kids selling candy and stuff like that!. After about the 4th person knocked on my door, I answered the door and almost blew a little kids head off with a shotgun!. Now, I have a sign that says if you knock on this door, be prepared to be killed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'm the same and to be honest, I don't know what will work for you!.
But if you haven't seeked help, then seek it!.
Therapy or anti-depressants if you're suffering from some kind of Depression, or maybe both!. At the very least, see your Doctor!.
Paranoia is a horrible thing and so is fear!.
But they are the two things I can suggest!.

Hey wolfman, when I get in a situation like that I try to meditate and focus on deep breathing and peace!. Visualization is another helpful tool!. Change your thinking, change your life! Have a GREAT week end! Take care!. KarenWww@Answer-Health@Com
