Not eating enough has a huge affect on adolescence's sleep!. It is good that you have hot milk before bed, is this contains chemicals that help the brain to relax, so does peanuts and turkey, so why not have a turkey and peanut butter sandwich before going to bed!. Try ovaltine or horlciks, but don't drink too much before bed as a full bladder can cause broken sleep!. You should avoid caffeine and tobacco, especially late in the evening!. Don't drink alcohol, not only are you underage but this will also disrupt sleep patterns!. Exercise within the day, but not within two hours before going to bed!.
One of the most important things to do before you go to bed is relax!. Having a routine like having a bath before bed can help your brain wind down and realise its bed time, continue reading a book or listening to the same piece relaxing music before going to bed as this does help, but don't read in your bedroom, especially don't work in your bedroom, you'll need to get rid of anything work related in your bedroom!. You should also finish any work your doing at least an hour before going to bed!.
A good thing to do to help your brain relax is to de-clutter your mind, write a list of what you achieved during the day, or tick off your achievements from a 'to do list'!. These can be mundane everyday tasks which are often the cause of most of our stress!. Make a new 'to do list' of what you want to acheive tomorrow, a good way to de-clutter your mind is to write down your thoughts in a diary!.
Make sure you throw away your tension, if your worrying about something write it down, this takes the thoughts out of your head and onto the paper, it also gives you a good look at what you worrying about so it will be easier to come up with a solution!. Write a possible solution down and then throw the piece of paper away!.
If your still feeling tense try a possitive visualisation tecnuique, it can be in the company of a certain person, or on your own!. Imagain the sights, sounds, smells and tastes that you want to experiance, focus on the other people their, the cloths worn and the weather!. The more detailed the impression, the more affective it will be!.
Beath! correct breathing is the most affective and easiest relaxation exercise, yet few people get it right and many beleive it just a matter of taking 'deep breaths'!. Place one hand on your chest, and the other on your abdomen, as you inhale, focus on pushing your abdomen out so your lower hand moves out, as you inhale, focus on pushing your abdomen in!. Try to keep the inhalation and exhalation the same length, keeping your shoulders still!.
Make sure you sleep in a comfortable bed, your matress should be turned over every few months and replaced every ten years!. Remember to also sleep in a comfortable position!. If you sleep on your side, place a pillow between your knees, if you sleep on your back, put a pillow under your knees!. Sleeping on your front is not recommended, head and neck are twisted in this position which is bound to give you akes and pains!. Its important you have a bedroom that is not too warm, not too cold and as dark and quite as possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
