Nytol's active ingredient is diphenhydramine (same as Benedryl)!. On the surface people will tell you that it is okay to take every night, but that is really not true unless you have gotten an okay from a doctor!. As an antihistamine, it can interfere with other medications as well as drugs and alcohol!. Can it make you depressed!.!.!.if you have a tendency towards depression its possible it can exacerbate your depression since literally, it is a depressant!. So, do not take it more than a few days for sleep without consulting your doctor!. Basically, it is a good medication for many things, but you can build a tolerance to it which technically makes it addictive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
