MR and Bipolar Person Being Taken Advantage Of...HELP!?!

Question: MR and Bipolar Person Being Taken Advantage Of!.!.!.HELP!!?
My brother (19) is borderline MR and also has bipolar disorder!. My mother has guardianship over him because he is not capable of caring for himself for extended periods of time!. He started a lawnmowing business this summer and has met an older couple who have taken a liking to both him and my 13 year old brother!. They have became obsessed and have taken both of them out of town without permission!. The come at 7 AM and pick them up and want them to even stay the night there!. My 13 year old brother said they "freak him out" and chooses to keep away from them now!. My oldest brother (the one with MR) is fighting tooth and nail to continue spending every second with these people and has even talked about moving in!. I have thought that maybe they are after his Disability check or maybe they are perverts (he has a camper his wife is not allowed in!.) I am getting worried because he will be there for days and they refuse to answer my mother or I's phone calls!. My mom has tried talking to them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Maybe these people feel genuinely sorry for your brother and just want to help him, but they don't see the harm they are doing!. It would help if you and your mother talked to them about the effect this is having on your brother, and establish some sort of visiting pattern!. If however you find that they are having dishonest intention, speak to your brother's caseworker who can advise you on what to do next!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
