How to tell my girlfriend I have depression?!

Question: How to tell my girlfriend I have depression!?
I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and impulsiveness 3 years ago!. I see a therapist regularly and have been on medication since then and have had no symptoms in 2 years (yay!)!.

I have been with my girlfriend for a year and a half and haven't told her!. It's partly that it is so sensitive for me, but as our relationship is more serious, I know that I need to tell her and be honest!. I just don't know how or when to bring it up!. I don't know if it should be formal like a sit down "We need to talk" or a casual, watching TV side note!. Any advice from anyone!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
We need to talk seems like a better approach!. If in a year and a half you have not found the right time to bring it up, the odds are you will not find an opportune time soon!.
Just sit down, explain what is going on with you, why you were afraid to say anything and then answer all of her questions!.
Congrats on the last 2 years!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im thinking a formal, we have to talk heart to heart type discussion needs to take place, not a casual one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have depression, you may feel exhausted, helpless and hopeless!. It may be extremely difficult to take any action to help yourself!. But it is important to realize that these feelings are part of the depression and do not accurately reflect actual circumstances!. As you begin to recognize your depression and begin treatment, negative thinking will fade!.

To help yourself:

Engage in mild activity or exercise!. Go to a movie, a ballgame, or another event or activity that you once enjoyed!. Participate in religious, social or other activities!.
Set realistic goals for yourself!.
Break up large tasks into small ones, set some priorities and do what you can as you can!.
Try to spend time with other people and confide in a trusted friend or relative!. Try not to isolate yourself, and let others help you!.
Expect your mood to improve gradually, not immediately!. Do not expect to suddenly "snap out of" your depression!. Often during treatment for depression, sleep and appetite will begin to improve before your depressed mood lifts!.
Postpone important decisions, such as getting married or divorced or changing jobs, until you feel better!. Discuss decisions with others who know you well and have a more objective view of your situation!.
Remember that positive thinking will replace negative thoughts as your depression responds to treatment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
