I'm twenty years old, single Dad to a three-year-old son but now happily engaged to a great girl!. I used to have drug addictions - weed, ecstasy and heroin!. I was also a heavy drinker/smoker!. This is since I was fourteen years old, until I was seventeen!. So for three years!. I suffered severe depression and anxiety afterwards, I had all sorts of problems!. Alcoholism and depression run in my family!. I'm so happy with my life right now, I had counseling for around two years and was finally better!. But I'm having flashbacks, lack of sleep, not wanting to eat, suicidal thoughts, general depression!. I don't understand why - I'm happy with life!. I'm craving drugs, craving cigarettes!. I'm trying to fight it all off because everything I've got is too much to lose!. One mistake and I'm back to where I was, I know that!. I know how messed up I became and how much I don't want that, yet I can't stop the craving!. I can't give in for my son, he is bipolar and only three!. I feel I need to be strong forWww@Answer-Health@Com

You should go back to counseling!. It is so hard to admit that you need help, but you have reached that step and now you should stay strong for your family, especially your son, because he needs you, as you all ready know!. Life gets hard and therefore things come up, but going back to counseling would be a good idea for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Find ways for you to cope and stay healthy; If you feel the depression is coming back!. Eat healthy, work out, get plenty of sleep, take some time out for you, drink plenty of water, get on a healthy diet, please don't drink or do drugs, and talk to someone if you feel stressed or worked out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i would say that u should go back to counselling even if its just for a few sessions until u feel better! i know u sed that it takes up too much time but surely its worth the time so as not to fall off the wagon completely and end up right back where u started!! and ur no good to ur son if that happens!! so surely what time counselling will take up is worth it compared to the potential amount of damage that going back to ur old ways cud do!!
i really hope my advice helps xxWww@Answer-Health@Com

I once slid down a two year slide of depression which finally ended after 26 days without food!. I nearly let myself starve to death!. Food, exercise, sunshine and a good job helped me when no one else bothered!. What helped me the most was hobbies and games; the kind kids play that make one laugh!. Get high on life!. Perhaps you could try something you and your little boy can get passionate in!. Radio controlled toys fascinate little minds, because they can identify with them a little bit easier!. Building one from a pile of parts can take time!. What better way to spend time with your son, learning together, playing!? We don't need drugs to play!. We just need to laugh!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're probably going to have to find time for counseling!. Find a clinic that has flexible hours!. Even going every two weeks can help!. A lot of times people with depression/bipolar will self medicate with drugs/alcohol so it isn't surprising that your cravings are stronger now that your suffering from depression again!. For a lot of people those craving never go away either, my husband was addicted to meth for 2 years and now, 6 years later he still gets cravings but has stayed clean and says it gets easier as time goes on!.
If you do end up making a mistake and using don't view it as the end of the world!. Ideally you'll manage to stay clean!. But if you do use once that doesn't mean you have to keep using or that your life is over it just means you need to try even harder!. Get what ever help you need, thats what is most important for your son!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
