Volunteered - having no idea how hard it would be to get out! As soon as I got in, i realized there was nothing they could do to help!.!.!.it was just a bunch of idiotic arts and crafts activities - nothing wrong with arts and crafts, but it had no relevence to my situation!. And it was frustrating being in the hospital and everything on the outside left hanging!. I worked at a bakery at the time and couldn't get back to work!.!.!.it was frustrating trying to convince the staff that the whole purpose of hospitalization would be defeated if i lost my job because of too long an absence!. But all they cared about was that I not harm myself "while in their care", so any pragmatic solutions like follow-up treatment or how my life could be ruined by too long a hospital stay!.!.!.were irrelevent!. The food was pretty good though!.!.!. but the therapy was 'dumbed down' - they really wanted to drug me up but i wouldn't let them!. And for 72 hours i just sat around waiting for the discharge papers!. The nurses, a few of them were also kinda rude!.!.!.which really cemented the idea (which i actually read somewhere) that people in the mental health profession, on average feel more contempt for mental illness sufferers!. The worst part of it was that i couldn't sleep!.!.!.because everything was sorta hanging on the outside!. I didn't even know that I'd not be fired from my job when i got out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
