I'm not a doctor, so I won't try to comment on the medical side!. But I know a little something about stress and how to deal with it!. I read this story once, and for some reason it made things easier for me:
A professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it!. He held it up for all to see and asked the students, 'How much do you think this glass weighs!?'

'50 gms!'!.!.!. '100 gms!'!.!.!. '125 gms' !.!.!. the students answered!.

'I really don't know unless I weigh it,' said the professor, 'but, my question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes!?'

'Nothing' the students said!.

'Ok! What would happen if I held it up like this for an hour!?' the professor asked!.

'Your arm would begin to ache', said one of the students!.

'You are right, now what would happen if I held it for a day!?'

'Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress and paralysis and have to go to hospital for sure!' ventured another student; and all the students laughed!.

'Very good!. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change!?' asked the professor!.

'No'

'Then what caused the arm ache and the muscle stress!?' The students were puzzled!.

'Put the glass down!' said one of the students!.

'Exactly!' said the professor!. 'Life's problems are something like this!. Hold it for a few minutes in your head and they seem okay!. Think of them for a long time and they begin to ache!. Hold it even longer and they begin to paralyze you!. You will not be able to do anything'!.

You clearly have a lot to deal with right now, but that's all the more reason for you to be strong!. Besides, the problems that you cant control stay exactly where they are regardless of whether you are stressed about them or calm about them!. The only difference is how much they take out of you!. Set some priorities for yourself and for what you want in life (because you cant have everything), and then have faith!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first thing you need to do is get off all those pills!. You are addicted to the narcotics, taking all the stuff you are taking will only get worse and will eventually hurt you because of the many side effects!. Probably the only thing in that bunch you are taking that will help some is, Xanax, and get off of it soon!. Why don't you pay a visit to your Pastor or Priest and have a long sit down and talk with them!. You'll be surprised at how much help to you they will be!. Talking about these problems is the best thing you can do!. There are more people out there that will gladly help you with all the worries, pain and stress!. Think positive, do not worry!. I wish for you the very best young lady!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Flush them down the toilet and stop seeing that DR!.

All of those meds are highly addicting!. You need to GRADUALLY come off those meds!. Talk more with your doctor!. Find other alternatives to cope with your stress!. Meditate, Read, Write, Paint, whatever calms you down!.
And remember to prioritize your issues!. Worry about one thing at a time!. That will help alot too!. You are putting to many issues on one plate and its hard for you to handle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on HOW long you've been on them!. If it's been a while he can't just take you off of them, you have to been weened off them slowly and I'm sure he knows this!.
Taking medicine is only a tool for helping you cope, and he's right you have to come up with some techniques that will work for you to lower your stress level!.
I should know!.!.!.!.!.
I have a few things I do, to try and lower my stress level or when I become to stressed out and they work, the medicine is only part of the solution!.!.!.!.!.you have to try different things until you find out what works best for you!.

Best of luck to you!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm impressed that you can deal with school with so much going on (I'm assuming the final exams are for you)!. This is a lot of stress and narcotics, xanax and tramadol have ways of making concentration difficult and the mind loopy!.

My first question is what narcotics are you on and how long have you been on them!? Please do not just flush the pills!. You could find yourself going through extreme sickness as you withdraw!. I had to withdraw from methadone and it was a taste of h*ll and if you're up to that level of narcotics, you're into the kind that are very likely to cause physical dependency!. If this doctor didn't give you a schedule for tapering off the meds, go to another doctor who can work with you on the taper!. Slowly let your body adjust to no longer having the medications!.

Ask your doctor about non-narcotic options!. tramadol isn't bad, but I always get horrible rebound headaches from it!. I do like Naproxin!. I don't know the nature of your injury, but I get horrible migraines once a week lasting 3-5 days a week!. Normal migraine medications don't work for me and I now refuse narcotics!. I depend on Excedrin Migraine and biofeedback for pain relief!. Your situation may require more options or different options!.

You may want to check on the level of cymbalta you're receiving and it's effectiveness as well!. Pain adds to depression and depression makes pain more noticeable!. It's a vicious cycle!. If you can get something going that eases the depression, it can help you handle the pain better as well!.

ETA: When you are off of them, you may find that you are missing them psychologically!. With depression this can be difficult!. It's important to get the depression under control!. Additionally, distractions can be the best way to get through the loss of the pain medications!. Since you have a weight problem, you may want to take walks as far as you can without making the pain worse!. Learn new recipes that are low fat and low calorie but taste good (they're out there)!. Focus on ways to make your new relationship fun rather than a source of stress (a surprise picnic, watching the sunset together, slipping notes in unexpected places for him to find later)!. Take time to see your grandfather whenever you can!. Let him know you love him!. You may not be able to cure him, but you can let him know that he's special to you!. Educate yourself about the lump on your daughter's kidney (You don't have to do this all at once, but when you start wanting the narcotics, these can give you a way to address the issues in your life proactively rather than reactively--that returns the power to you)!. Financial stress can be one of the biggest stressors in our lives!. Try cutting back on unnecessary expenses and call your creditors and work with them to pay off your bills!. It's difficult and you may feel like you're sacrificing a lot, but once you have everything paid off, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment that will make it worthwhile!. And the stress will be gone!. If you can't do this because of your health issues, don't worry about it!. Health comes before good credit!. Above all, be good to yourself!. Remember that you are a worthwhile person despite your struggles and that you have more strength than you know!. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it or spoil yourself when you're down!. You can do this!. Slow down and take one thing at a time!. All we have is this moment and we can't do everything in this moment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, at least by asking this question you realize that taking all of these medicines at the same time is bad!. That's a good thing!.

It sounds like you might be on too many different medicines!. Get a new doctor! Although you don't say what over-the-counter meds you're taking, I hope they aren't more pain pills!. You probably shouldn't be on tramadol AND ibuprofin (and possibly more pain pills) at the same time, though I'm not a doctor!.

I suggest seeing a therapist or counselor and talking about stress and all the things going on in your life!. Then you wouldn't have to overmedicate yourself to deal with the pain!.

Just remember - things will get better! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!. First and foremost addiction is your number one problem!. Narcotics are VERY addicting and VERY hard to kick!. The pain you feel when you stop taking the meds is addiction talking!. Why did you start taking the meds in the first place!? If you still have the underlying problem, it needs to be treated!. The first part of fixing addiction is admitting there is a problem!. Which you've done here!. You need to go to your doctor and tell him that you are addicted to prescription drugs!. Final exams will be over soon, and the other problems will be fixed in time!. I'm not so sure that a new relationship is a good idea given the fact that you need to be paying attention to yourself first and foremost!. You can fix a weight problem!. Each of these problems alone are simple problems!. Unfortunately, all together they seem unfixable!. take one problem at a time!. Once you fix one, then you have one less problem!.!.!.!.!.!.!.start with the addiction and move on from there!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
