Question: What do you do when you need talk therapy, but don't really feel like it!?
Hi!. I've been on medication for mild depression and ADHD for several years!. I've slowly discontinued and feel great!.
However, part of the bargain with my husband is I could trade my medication for talk therapy!.
I've tried this in the past and hated it!!
I just don't feel good about sitting with a stranger and picking apart my issues--which are not that bad!. I don't get along with my mom (not gonna change) and I don't like the city I recently moved to (big whoop)!. No abuse, drugs, nothing!.!.!.
How do you motivate yourself to choose a therapist and stick with it!?

If you feel great, have a good talk with your husband to find out why he thinks you need to go to therapy!.
Ask him what his concerns are!.
Maybe there are things that bother him and he does not want to bring this up!. Maybe he hopes by you going to therapy you will deal with some of the things he has concerns about!.

Do the therapy or, potentially face the possibility of spiralling out of control, depression symptoms worsen, and then your husband could possibly not want to be with you anymore!.

So, do the therapy now, while things are still good!.

Just some food for thought!. Mental Health issues are nothing to play with!.

If your marriage and Husband are worth keeping, DO THE THERAPY, NOW, NOW, NOW ! ! !

Just try out various people and find one you're comfortable with!. I know how uncomfortable it can be picking apart your life in front of a stranger, which is why I think you should go in and just talk for a few sessions - about anything!. Politics, the weather, your pets!.!.!.but not your problems!.

Once you feel like you know the person, it will be easier to open up to them!. Motivation!? If it'll help you be less depressed, or if it'll make your husband happy!.!.!.it's worth a try!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have no experience with this but I think I suffer from depression so I need one too!

I think yous hould just look at all you options and find the one you feel most comfortable with!.

If not then just tell them that you are nevous/don't wanna talk about it and they may make you feel better about it so you can trust them!.!.!.!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Realize that "not feeling like it" is one of the symptoms!.

You may be running from something without realizing it, hence you "hated it"!.

Do yourself a favour - go back and face it!.
