Has anyone tried a couple of different antideppressants such as wellbutrin, cymb!

Question: I have tried both of these and just trying to get similar people's likes and dislikes on which one has worked better for them.

Answers: I have tried both of these and just trying to get similar people's likes and dislikes on which one has worked better for them.

I have taken many antidepressants since 1983.
If one does not work, sometimes the doctor will add another one. I am now taking Cymbalta 60 mg., Ritalin for energy, Seroquel for sleep and Klonapin most of the time.
Taking a combination of antidepressants has helped me feel better. After a while these medications may not help as much as they did when you first start them. When medication stops helping you, it means that it is time to try something else.
Taking more than one antidepressant at one time does help some of us. Work with your doctor to find what meds. are best for you. Good Luck.

I tried Cymbalta, 30 mg and couldn't really tell a huge difference but I was on and off of it because my insurance kept covering/not covering it. It comes in doses of 60 mg and I think I would've benefited more from that.

used Wellbutin, could not continue due to side effect,

Am on Effecxor XR for past 4 years with good results.

Zoloft also did not work.

I have brain chemistry that effects all the positive receptors. I have had to fight depression all my live

Doing pretty good these days.

I've tried both and more over the last 40+ years dealing with chronic depression. I've tried Wellbutrin and cymbalta all in the last 4 years and the cymbalta has worked best for me. But for my daughter it's just the opposite Wellburtin works better for her.
I think it depends a lot on your individual body chemistry. I think that it's a pretty hit and miss situation with each person. Not even with in families does the same things work.

I tried Cymbalta, Lexapro, Zoloft, and Prozac. Cymbalta was a horribke medication for me because it gave me terrible side effects but physically and mentally. Prozac is a very old drug and because of this, it doesnt always work as the others do. Prozac did nothing for me. Zoloft worked well until I started getting bad headaches from it. The best anti depresant that I took was Lexapro. Lexapro is known as the most well tolerated anti depressant available right now. SO if your worried about side effects, I would go on lexapro
