Try the GP first before a neurologist. You should have an evaluation if you have seriously deteriorated It could be stress, chemical imbalance, or something more serious.

It can be either one. Begin with a neurologist. Stress can cause this but it best to rule out the big stuff first.

Did you hit your head recently? Maybe you have too many things in your mind that you can't focus on what you did in the past.
Have you been having problems with anxiety or depression along with that? I'd start with my medical Doctor and get a referral from him/her. Something's going on...and you're right to get it checked out. Good luck! kjl

i'm thinking it may be ADD. i have ADHD, and i have short term memory problems....when people talk fast i can't process what they are saying (so it sucks when i'm talking to my pscyh or my orthodontist..they both have accents!) and when people try to explain things to me....it takes a long time to process it. you should go to a psychiatrist. no need to go to a neurologist...just look up ADD. if you have more than 3 of the symptoms that a website listed, then chances are you probably have it. not sure how old you are, but normally ADD/ADHD is diagnosed in the childhood or teenage years...but it can also develop later on in life. if they give you adderall or ritalin, be sure not to abuse it. good luck!
