I need to cry but can't?!


Question: I've been through a lot of bad experiences over the last few years but i have never once cried. I haven't in fact cried in over 3 years. I know i need to cry but i just can't get my body to do it even when i'm on my own. My emotion often comes out as anger but i think all i need is to cry. Any advice anyone?

I learned a technique in counseling that will help make you cry and get rid of some of that emotion. When you are alone, and it is completely quiet, think of something really sad. It doesn't have to be one of the bad experiences you have been through in the last couple of years but something that really gets to you. Things from your childhood work best, some memory of losing a loved one, or whatever it is for you.
If you try hard enough, you can make yourself start to cry. And then once you start to cry you can think of the bad experiences you say you've been thru the last couple of years. You are so smart to know that pent up emotion from sadness or disappointment or whatever DOES come out in rage.

Try it, I hope it works for you. You may have to try a couple of times for you to feel back to those emotions but don't give up.

you cant make urself cry, try punching ur self,

if you can't cry, well then you cant.

Work out so that for one, you can get your aggression out properly and who knows maybe you'll exhaust yourself enough to cry. Second, just let it happen naturally, you don't want to dwell on those situations too long if they bring out anger or hatred. That might actually be keeping you from crying. You usually have to be sad to cry not mad and resentful.

Sometimes alcohol makes one weepy.

well, just let all of your feeling out when nobody else is around, doing this will help you feel better. but being able to cope with stress is a good skill in life because many bad things happen to everybody

See a shrink, he/she will find a way to get you to cry.

try to channel you emotion not into anger but if you need to cry think of heaps of sad things

Try talking to someone who you trust and understands what your going through, you probably just need a shoulder to cry on!

Never mind Crying just Pray

One day it will come out. Maybe you should go to the airport or somewhere noisy and just scream and scream. It really makes you feel better.

maybe you're pasted the crying stage. i find that when i cant cry its an indication that i have to start examining what is making me hurt.

I usually try writing out what im feeling without holding back, sometimes it brings me to tears, sometimes it helps me understand myself better & through understanding you can overcome anything.

You will when you are ready. Talking to someone always gets the tears flowing for me. Don't force it. Maybe your body has another way to get out the stress. Write about it. That helps me too.

my mom is a doctor she says to me when i feel sad and cant cry go to your room alone close your door then get a pillow put it on your face and scream really hard

well dont think crying is bad or letting an emotion out think of it like its a way to say ur feeling extremely down

think about the saddest think in the world.

blast some music...and let your thoughts and emotions flow through you!!

well maybe you don't need to cry! your a strong person...
well i cry over sad movies. u can try that....
if i get hurt sometimes i cry... maybe get hurt n purpose. but don't tern emo!!! :)

listen to sad songs,
get involved in a fight with ur loved ones,
if it doesnt help, peel and slice some onions:)

you don't need to cry it just comes when you feel it..
i cried when i heard a song from MANA("..mis ojos no te pueden ver.."), which made me cry because i thought of the people that have died in my family.. : (
