I suffered it on Risperidone and it was like hell on earth. I could not sit still for 30 seconds and I felt severely tormented in a way hard to describe. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Yes- whilst on fluoxetine.. an indescribable and horrendous experience. I believe some psychiatrists conducted an experiment by taking psychiatric drugs- they later said that akathisia was the worst experience of their life.

Yes, I got exactly the same thing on the same med - I changed to abilify and still get akathesia but they treat it with side effect tablets (which of course have their own side effects!!!!!)
I had this reaction to abilify. There are medications out there that can help with this but you have to ask for these treatments.
1. Cogentin
2. Artane
3. Benadryl
I take Artane for the side effect and it works wonders.
