Take my mind off it, usually by writing journal entries, speeches, something lofty.

exercise, gardening, three stooges videos.

make myself busy

Try Yoga. It seems to work for me. Keep your head up!!!!

Go to the doctor to get medicine!

Tolerate it , knowing that this is not going to last long time.

Depression is the highest mental disorder in today's world and the drug industries are making billions by making remedies which ultimately instead of helping , damaging us in long term.

I am depressed when I take things too much in personal level and think from a very narrow self centric point of view.

We are depressed because of our uncontrolled desires which
never get fulfilled. If we are satisfied with whatever we have I am sure we make some progress towards a distress free life.

Our life should not be measured on the scale how important I am in my society.

Let me quote the following verses that will get you some relief when next time you feel you are depressed.

From Srimad Bhagavatam (Canto 1)

"The occupational activities a man performs according to his own position are only so much useless labor if they do not provoke attraction for the message of the Personality of Godhead."

"All occupational engagements are certainly meant for ultimate liberation. They should never be performed for material gain. Furthermore, according to sages, one who is engaged in the ultimate occupational service should never use material gain to cultivate sense gratification."

"Life's desires should never be directed toward sense gratification. One should desire only a healthy life, or self-preservation, since a human being is meant for inquiry about the Absolute Truth. Nothing else should be the goal of one's works."

Count my blessings

The best thing i find is just plain laughing, when im in my worst of the worst moods, i just find a comedian on the internet or on tv that i havent seen before, watch him , and if he is funny u will laugh and it will make u feel better. laughter is the universal healer, that is true, id take wut is depressing u and putting it out of ur mind, and watch/do something fun that might make u laugh and have some fun :)

write. it doesn't matter what about.
anything that's comforting, as long as it's fairly safe.

I keep taking my medications.
I keep going to therapy.
I do certain things I enjoy each day.
I talk to my friend on the phone sometimes.
We go out together sometimes.
I enjoy YA. I do Sudoku.
I enjoy a certain craft.
I eat chocolate. Yum, Yum, Yum!
I keep on keeping on going even though it's depressing.

Try to take my mind off of it, but I listen to "What Hurts The Most" by Rascal Flatts and start crying my head off.
