Does a Brown Recluse mean instant death?!
Question:
Does a Brown Recluse mean instant death?
Does it?
Answers:
A young child near where I live died from the bite of a brown recluse; but it took him a little while. He became very ill and his systems failed because of a reaction to the bite. Sometimes a person can have a rare reaction to the bite that causes him to develop the characteristic necrosis if he get any kind of skin abrasion thereafter. Most of the time, however, prompt treatment with antibiotics can fix the bite of a brown recluse. If you notice a bite with a sort of bruiselike circle surrounding it that does not heal or go away in a short time, this is likely a recluse bite and should be treated ASAP. If too much skin is killed, one might require grafting.
