Has anyone studied internship for ACUPUNCTURE in china Beijing Tianjin?!

Question:

Has anyone studied internship for ACUPUNCTURE in china Beijing Tianjin?

I am interesed in traveling to china to intern in a acupuncture chinese medicine hospital. I currently have my masters degree in chinese medicine in america. I do not speak chinese, but I am interested in a 3 month language study. I am interested in 3-6 months of internship, but hopefully more.
I am also interested in learning how to cook chinese food so any links to culinary schools would be great. The cooking would be just for fun.
Questions:
What are ur experiences with your training?
Where did u train?
Was it difficult to use a translator during classes?
Where did u stay and what were the dorms like? Internet included if not how much. Are there any chinese websites that u can find apartments with?
What was the cost for training and living?
Any recommendations other than Beijing and tainjin?
Would u recommend finding an internship position some where in america instead of china?

While there how could I find a possible conversational english teaching job?
Thank you

Answers:

My Chinese doctor (who is both an MD and foot reflexologist from China) says that the best training and education you can get when it comes to TCM or acupuncture is in China. He mentioned this since I was contemplating a field in acupuncture. If you don't speak the language it will obviously be pretty difficult to study in China. Not only would you have to learn to speak the language, but I think you would also have to learn how to read and possibly write it. I'm not sure how much any one can pick up in 3 just 3 months of study. My nationality is Chinese, yet my Mandarin is very poor and I can only read and write a few numbers in Chinese. I have friends who moved to HK/China for missionary work and studied Chinese for 2-3 years! But who knows, some people pick up languages faster than others... but it is definately going to be challenging.

Overall, I think it could be a very good experience for you. If you have the time, money, and a deep desire to learn the culture, language, and expand your knowledge in scupuncture it is a great opportunity. Experience counts for so much.

I can't answer most of your questions since I haven't been through this myself, but if you're looking for english teaching jobs, check with different organizations. I have been to China on 3 occasions to teach ESL through a Christian organization.
