What are the benefits of vitamin E and Coq10?!

Question:

What are the benefits of vitamin E and Coq10?

Are these essential to take daily? My nutritionist said even raw fruits and veggies do not have the daily amount of vitamins and minerals that we need daily ... is this true?

Answers:

This vitamin-like substance is, by nature, present in all human cells and responsible for the production of the body’s own energy. In each human cell food energy is converted into energy for our body in the mitochondria with the aid of CoQ10. 95% of all our body’s energy requirements (ATP) is converted with the aid of CoQ10. Therefore it is obvious that those organs with the highest energy requirements – such as the heart, the lungs and the liver – have been shown to have the highest CoQ10 concentrations.

Because of its ability to transfer electrons and therefore act as an antioxidant, Coenzyme Q has become a valued dietary supplement. CoQ10 has been widely used for the treatment of heart disease (especially heart failure), gum diseases, and also breast cancer. As you age, the body's production of CoQ10 declines, so it's important to supplement CoQ10 since it is not available in your diet.

Because CoQ10 is something your body produces, I feel that it is important that once you start taking CoQ10, you take it continuously. I work in a retail store as a vitamin consultant, and see so many people that don't know the mg. that they have been taking, so they just buy anything and jump from 30mg to 100mg to 50mg. Because its so important for your heart, I strongly advise against that. So if you decide to take CoQ10, stick with the same potency, (never lower) and if anything increase gradually.
