Chinese herbs to reverse gray/grey hair? He Shou Wu?!
Question:
Chinese herbs to reverse gray/grey hair? He Shou Wu?
Hi! :) My acupuncturist told me of a Chinese herbal supplement, Fo-Ti or He Shou Wu (Polygonum multiflorium), that's known to slow down or even REVERSE gray hair. It's also a detoxifier for the kidneys and liver, and even has some claims of slightly lowering cholesterol.
I happen to have elevated cholesterol (not dangerously high, just higher than it should be for someone of my age, activity level and healthy eating habits). I also have a LOT of gray hair for someone who's only 35. Both of my parents went gray prematurely, so I always accepted this as genetics.
But now that I did a lot of research on He Shou Wu, I'm thinking that perhaps if I could lessen my "toxicness", I could lessen my gray hair. This seems to be among the most COMMON of all Chinese herbs. Some folks have had miraculous hair color changes from it, tho I know no remedy works for everyone. But I'm thinking of trying it. My acupuncturist takes it, and says it's even safe for children.
Any thoughts? :)
Answers:
Yes, He Shou Wu is a very famous Chinese herb and has been used for centuries in all of Asia.
Of course not everyone benefits from it, but many do, so give it a try and give it some time to kick in. Maybe even a few months.
Like the other person said, I would not go for the ones in the box (low strength in those) Go for a good quality such as these http://www.holisticchineseherbs.com/hair...
or through your acupuncturist.
