Melatonin in Teenagers?!
Question: Melatonin in Teenagers?
Answers:
taking 4 mg tonight will not hurt anything. So enjoy and go to sleep. Personally I take two benadryl and they put me right to sleep.
Here is another answer from the web:
Gupta: Based on available studies and clinical use, melatonin is generally regarded as safe in recommended doses. That means only for kids older than age 10, in doses of three mg or less, for short-term use. But because you probably can, doesn't mean you should use melatonin. Sleep experts say you're much better off getting your kid on a regular schedule than giving them melatonin.
You don't know what you are doing, your pharmacist does not know because he does not peddle natural stuff, he peddles pharmaceuticals. And if you are 13 and lack Melatonin, you have some other problem. Melatonin does not help sleeping problems. Melatonin puts you to sleep. And Melatonin is the 3rd and final step in your sleeping process. I would suggest magnesium and chlorophyll.
"My local pharmacist said it wouldn't be a problem for me to take"
That answers all your questions. Why would you ask for advice from less educated, non pharmacy doctorate people when your pharmacist said it would be okay?
