i push it back in my mind over and over untill im not sure if its reality or a dream.... and if i dont know if it was reality or a dream i cant be sad about it. then ill think of other things and mix it togeather then ill do things to get my mind off it all... and that ussally helps me. like listin to an old song i know by heart blasting and singing along.. or talking to a friend...
been there done that
p.s. dont give up... you will pull through...
This is going to be hard. If its something that distressful, every time you try to stop thinking about it, it may return with renewed strength. Here's something I read in a book a long time ago - I can't remember the title now:
Every time you re-live the stuff in your mind just shout in your head loudly STOP. Don't do it verbally - people might think you're nuts. Shout in IN YOUR HEAD and loudly and in a long fashion,ie, not STOP but STOOOOOOP!
Also occupy your mind with things. this may sound crazy, but doing complex math or solving puzzles occupies the mind really well. Watch TV , read , do something useful, talk to friends - you get the picture. Sitting around with an idle mind will make things worse.
Also consider professional help. Psycotherapy/councelling might help.
Since you ask this question in "alternative medicine", I assume you want a herb or drug that may help you accomplish this.
Marijuana is notorious for causing memory loss, but it will likely amplify the pain of what you are feeling. But it will also possibly help you view things in a different perspective.
Remember, I am not condoning any illegal drug use.
Edit: WOW KENNETH. WAY TO STEAL MY IDEA!
One way I've found useful is to immerse yourself in something else you find that takes all your attention. Honestly, it takes time to get past some stuff. Time will help ease this, just not as quickly as we would hope. Hold on...it will get better. Take care.
