tightness in legs while meditating?!
Question: Tightness in legs while meditating?
so i really want to be able to sit the proper way with good posture but when im sitting I notice that it is very hard for me to keep good posture without tensing my legs around right under my hips. If i try to relax this area i end up slouching or will fall backwards. I have no problems in the posture itself it just seems that im tensing this area so i dont fall backwards and i know I must either be doing something wrong or maybe im too inflexible, which is why im tensing my legs right under my hips. does anyone know from experience, or whether this is a flexibility issue or what.

Try sitting on a cushion. If your hips are above your knees, you should not have this problem anymore. You may want to invest in what is called a zafu.
