How do u treat alopecia (may be spelled wrong)?!

Question: How do u treat alopecia (may be spelled wrong)?
Just wondering

Answers:

loads of treatments out there, from over the counter remedies you can find in a chemist, even supermarkets, to prescription creams containing steroids and more to massage to acupuncture (the metal hedgehog look is startling though, not as painful as it looks either)..

Basically it depends what type of alopecia you are trying to treat, if it is age related and within your family there are some treatments (the over the counter ones) which can help delay the process, although I would be sceptical as to whether they could halt it altogether. If the alopecia is due to trauma, as in a blow to the head, sometimes steroids (in the form of a cream) will help, certainly acupuncture has been known to help. If it is something you simply have, that you are more or less born with (mine, alopecia universalis, no hair anywhere, at all) then treatments are less likely to work, although still worth trying, being a bald child then teenager tends to be soul destroying at the time.

Nowadays there are plenty of affordable wigs and hairpieces, a variety of bandanas, some with hair attached so it looks as if you have used a bandana to tie your hair back, and even hats with hair attached too, the advantage of the hats and bandans being that wigs, especially in the summer can be bulky, hot and itchy, although again, the modern wigs are much better.

One point, if you are starting to suffer, this summer make sure you have your head covered in the sun - getting a sunburnt head is torture, it feels like your brains are trying to escape from your head and there is no way of relieving it!
