im not sure about it, but you make want to have water next to youn incase it gets stuck in your throat. I always suck on ice for a while, eat snowcones, icees, or anything cold. if that dousnt help, get sucrets, they are really good to suck on. you may have strep, so you may want to talk to a docter for medications. also, your throat may be really dry, so swallow an ice cube, or drink lots of water, and go to sleep. it will rehydrate you so the dryness will go away.

I'm not sure about honey, but gargling with warm salt water always help me. Be careful not to use too much salt. Do it in the morning and at night before you go to bed.

I'm not sure about honey, but my mother always used to make me gargle water with salt in it. I always thought it was dumb, but now that i'm in college and if i get sick, I always do it and it helps. Or you can always go and get some dayquil (sp?) or the generic brands to help it...and vitamins :)

honey has some anti microbial properties, if you try mixing some with green tea or better yet traditional medicinals throat coat tea it may help.

You might think that i'm daft but a sure fire way to nip a cough or a sore throat in the bud ........ is to slice a lime or lemon into quarters, squeeze the juice into a cup of warm water and add organic honey to taste (honey has antiobiotic properties) and sip on that................. so, yep, the honey will help if it is organic raw honey .....then, suck on another 1/4 of a lime or lemon rinsing your mouth out thoroughly afterwards to protect your teeth from the acid ?

Put a capfull of eucalyptus oil into a hot bath and soak in that for 15 - 20 minutes luxuriously inhaling the steamy wonderfull vapours.......... this will help enormously in loosening congestion and mucus from your chest and respiratory tract.

Put a few drops of eucalyptus oil also onto a hanky and lie it next to your pillow at night to help ease breathing.

Fill a salad bowl with hot water and put 1/2 a capfull of eucalyptus oil into it ~ make a tent with a towel over your head and lean over the bowl and inhale the steamy eucalypt vapours ........... being carefull not to get so close that you burn your face?

Caution ~ Do not use eucalyptus oil if you suffer from epilepsy or high blood pressure ....... if either is the case simply substitute with tea tree oil which is also a brilliant antiviral and antibacterial?
