What are some of your most effective cold sore remedies?!

Question: Hydrogen peroxide, or Colloidal Silver are both recommended, as well as Sweet Melissa essential oil. Hydrogen Peroxide and the oil will sting, Colloidal Silver will not sting. Breaking the blisters first is also recommended, you don't really need a needle, if you take the q-tip and wet it with peroxide or colloidal silver, and scrub it on the sore a little bit it will help it to penetrate the tissue and work more effectively.

You can combine these, and use Colloidal Silver internally, plus hold some in the mouth for several minutes, as it is absorbed through the mucous membranes.

perfume my sisters and i swear by it just dab it on

Fill a small container with HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. Throughout the day, and as often as possible, swab the cold sore using clean Q-tips.

Alternatively, buy Zylactin-L ointment from your drug store.

I agree with health buff but I first break it open with a sterile needle then dab the peroxide on it.

Geranium essential oil. Just mix two or three drops in some base oil, store it in a clean container with a lid and then dab it onto you sore three or four times a day.

I would use essential oil of Tea-Tree or essential oil of Lavender as they are both antiseptic and anti fungal. These are both safe to use neat.

Lysine helps.

I know more than one person who uses perfume on them...at the first sign of one, it gets dabbed with perfume. Most people I know who do this say that the cheaper the perfume, the better.

I also know a couple of people who using rubbing alcohol on them.
