Is it safe to use pepto-bismol while breastfeeding?!

Question: It is advised that you do not use it while breast feeding because the active ingredient bismuth subsalicylate has been shown to cause Reyes syndrome in infants similar to that as aspirin which is a salicylate.

Talk to your doctor on what your should be able to take.

only if you take it a few times and not every day, alot

It should be fine. A small trace of EVERYTHING will be in the milk, just don't drink the whole bottle.

it might make the milk untasty for the baby, but if u want i can try it out for u.

it should be ok but not too much of it

I checked this out on Google and it is not safe. Use Maalox, Tums or Gelusil for heartburn. Avoid using Pepto Bismol or baking soda. Some pregnant women find drinking a large glass of cold milk and sleeping in an upright position helps their heartburn.

Personally, I'm not sure. I'm sure a LITTLE bit on occasion wouldn't hurt, but try using milk or tums in the chewable pill form first. For me, I drank milk a LOT for heartburn and upset stomach. Worked wonders.

I would recommend against it as it can contain aspirin. Here is a link i found that might help.

No it isn't safe. It does contain ingredients that have been known to cause reyes symdrome in children. If you need to take anything go with Tums. Tums are even safe enough to take while you are pregnant. Plus extra is they have calcium which is always a plus. Everything in moderation.
