don't break it, I recommend dissolving it in hot water, and then holding your nose and take one big GULP!!!

It will probably taste really gross, but ya you can.

You can get omega 3 oil, in liquid form.

i wouldn't even take them but if you have to mix it with tea or something

yeah you can just pop it but it will taste and smell bad.
you could also try sticking the pill in some yogurt and then just swallow.

Yes you can. You can bit into the pill and swallow the contents, drinking a glass of water after will be good too. You may also squeese the content into a spoon. just make sure you get it all. The casing is just a holder for the gel you need, so its alright to due without it. I've done it before. So, no worries!

It may taste really bad though....or you can but it in liquid form, you just have to read the amount you need. Dissolving it in any drink is too hard to swallow because of the taste. I tried with hot tea.

-Happy Hols, n New Year!

Get better!

Yes but be warned...the oil tastes NASTY. The reason it's in the tables is to protect you from the taste (it will most likely make you gag). But taking it in a spoon is just fine, they even sell bottles of the oil by itself for people with strong stomachs.

I use them all the time ,they're about a inch big yeah i know intimidating,Just get a glass of water it helps ALOT......Those are also very good for your back

Good Luck!!

Hey, I try and keep all my essential fatty acids in check. I take a combo of flax seed, fish and other essential oils which contain omega's 3,6 and 9. Eventually you will get used to swallowing the pill. It's best not to break it up because they are designed to disolve at a metablic rate. Also eat eggs which are enriched with Omega 3, as well as alot of lean meat like tuna. Good luck

You could chew them up before you swallow them.

Yes, and get only the fresh oil and keep in fridge. Read the date stamp and obtain from busy retailer who moves inventory fast. I go to walmart or cvs. I think fresh matters. Much more economical in liquid form. get small bottles and keep it fresh.

Ya know -- I asked about this stuff because I review medical records and I was amazed as to how many people took them. I asked a question about them (not this one specifically though) but damn, I found out they could reduce blood pressure (mine is high) - lubricate joints, and sooooooooooo much more. We're going to get them -- I work in a hospital -- suck them down -- put it on the back of your tongue....from what I understand, they are amazing. I can't imagine they taste too great though that way.

Yes you can, it's how some people give it to their pets, by sticking a hole in the gel cap and squeezing out the oil.I take 1 capsule each morning and I agree they are ginormous.
Might I also suggest Hawthorn berry extract or capsules to help control cholesterol. I found it to be quit helpful in controlling my
LDL . Its a herbal supplement available in most health food stores and many markets.

they will taste really awful...trust me.....you can also take flax seed oil caps to help lower your cholesterol .....if you like fish just eat more fish ...just change your eating habbits a bit my husband has to do all that too and there is cereals that help lower cholersterol, also there is a product in the dairy isle that is a little drink that helps lower it ...good luck !!!!!

You could also try getting your Omega 3 by using flax seed...tis much better tasting and can be used for cooking most anything..I simply sprinkle 2-3T on my yogurt. just make sure you go to a nutrition store for it.

Come on Viv, be a big girl now and swallow that pill. ~~~~
I have been taking one twice a day for the antioxidant value.

I am glad to hear what your Dr. has told you. Do everything you can Viv to keep off of cholesterol medication. It has side effects that you won't like. I was put on it a few months back & I took myself off & told my Dr. I did. It can damage the liver & must be checked closely. It did effect my mussels & joints. I worried about possible damage to my liver.
Take care my friend. Will answer you soon. ~~~~~

you can but who would want to? tastes terrible. better choking em down! saying that though, you can get omega from flax seed oil and walnuts. Look into alternatives if you just cant do it. in any event take omegas cause they are needed in all areas not just for cholesterol

I take both Omega 3 and flaxseed oil - both I bite on and squeeze the juice into my mouth and SWALLOW! (And spit out the remains of the capsules) Do the Omega 3 first - I heard Natrol is a good brand it's available cheap at Wal Mart and I saw on TV it tested non toxic - some brands can have toxins in them - go on the Internet for safest ones - but I know that's a good one and it's fairly cheap at Wal Mart... anyway, then I do the same thing with the flaxseed oil... you must take Omega 3 if your doctor recommends it the Omega 3 oil has stuff in it flaxseed oil doesn't and who can eat salmon 3 to 5 or more time a week like Eskimos or others from the Arctic Circle region to have a healthy heart like they all do? Ask if you can take flaxseed oil too. Some flaxseed oil pills are huge too. I found one at Wal Mart that is generic brand of some type, it tastes like walnut juice! I bite into those after the Omega 3 and it helps them go down a lot better - but beware some flaxseed oils can be nasty tasting too, shop around until you find one that tastes good - you'll find one - believe me - I'm a nurse and you CAN'T get the benefits from flaxseed oil alone without Omega 3 - the fish oil is super beneficial... but the flaxseed oil is a wonderful supplement too, ask your doctor if it's OK, with his approval only of course start it too, and take it after to get the taste of the Omega 3 quickly out of your mouth... I started biting into them because in pill form they cause stomach upset in me and a lot of people - irregularity, diarrhea, constipation, etc. and those problems don't occur without those horrible capsules - Good luck hope I helped - I've been on them a while - my blood pressure is great....

besides taking the omega also take CoQ10 and eat a high fiber diet. Also eat good fats. Plant-based oils containing saturated fatty acids include coconut oil, olive oil, butter.
avoid bad fats stick margarine and some tub margarines, vegetable shortening.
The typical vegetable oils that are on the shelves with the Crisco and Wesson oils are bad oils. Avoid Canola oil also.
The good oils are with the Olive oils, grapeseed oils, sesame oils.
It takes 102 days to get the bad fats out of your system.

Pay attention to how much you take--I broke out in pimples within 4 days and my skin got so oily. I had to stop taking them.
